Pulse Geocaching August 2010
This morning I was hanging out at the Sawmill Inn in Brainerd enjoying a large cup of coffee (see below) during PULSE GEOCACHE!
On the Tim With Him Morning Show, Tim Norton gave out coordinates and clues to help people find me. Steve from Randall found me first, and won a gift certificate to the Sawmill Inn, a Pulse T-shirt, an Addison Road CD and a trillion-dollar-bill Gospel tract.
Crow Wing County Fair 2010
The Pulse is at the Crow Wing County Fair in Brainerd again this year, and we’d love for you to stop by. We’re in the same spot as in the past (between the bunnies and the bathrooms, right across from the Army Hummer). Pulse Plinko has been popular again this year and gives you a chance to win CD’s, T-shirts, Higher Ground Music Festival tickets, and free jet ski rentals. We’re also giving out free samples of Walleye Dan’s new brand of coffee. We’ll be out there through Saturday night, and we’d love to hang out with you!
Sonshine 2010
Sonshine 2010 is well on its way. We’ve been having fun bringing you the Tim With Him morning show live from Sonshine in Willmar, MN. We’ve also seen some great concerts and met some Pulse listeners.
Do you have any fun stories or pictures from your Sonshine experience? We’d love to see them! Email them to adam@100thepulse.org!
Sonshine goes through tomorrow night, and you can click here to see the schedule.
Bean Hole Days 2010
Nothing says “tourist attraction” like free beans. Well, that’s certainly the case in Pequot Lakes anyway.
Bean Hole Days is an annual event that draws thousands of people to enjoy the beauty of Central Minnesota while savoring a free meal of magical fruit.
The beans, prepared with a secret recipe behind locked doors, are buried in huge cast iron kettles and cooked underground over a wood fire overnight. The bean pots are raised the next day and volunteers serve a delicious free bowl of beans, bun and lemonade to thousands of attendees. The coronation of the Bean Hole Royalty is a special feature as well.
The beans will be raised out of the ground tomorrow (Wed. July 14, 2010) at 11:30 am and will be served starting at noon.
I Love a Parade
Tim Norton and I had plenty of opportunities to play our kazoos this weekend. A lot of Pulse listeners called out to play “Name That Tune” at the parades in Nisswa and Brainerd. Also, we had a great team of volunteers who handed out thousands of freezy pops and hundreds of Gospel tracts. Thanks, guys and gals!
