Penny Pinching Tip About Toothpaste
Even if I’m not saving wheelbarrow loads of cash with this tip, I’m all for pinching pennies by extending the life of my tube of toothpaste. Woman’s Day Magazine recently advised using less.
“Despite what you see on commercials, a brush full of toothpaste won’t clean your pearly whites any better than half that amount, according to E. Jane Crocker, RHD, president of the Massachusetts Dental Hygienists’ Association. ‘All you need is a pea-size amount of toothpaste—yes, I mean the little green vegetable!’ Not only will that get the job done effectively (by cleaning and removing plaque, stains and food debris), you’ll also extend the life of your tube.”

Pulse Geocaching August 2010
This morning I was hanging out at the Sawmill Inn in Brainerd enjoying a large cup of coffee (see below) during PULSE GEOCACHE!
On the Tim With Him Morning Show, Tim Norton gave out coordinates and clues to help people find me. Steve from Randall found me first, and won a gift certificate to the Sawmill Inn, a Pulse T-shirt, an Addison Road CD and a trillion-dollar-bill Gospel tract.

Not Home Yet….
Comedian Ken Davis told a great story today on Lighten Up:
After fifty years of service in Africa, a weary missionary couple walked down the gangplank of their boat. The disimbarking was delayed by a crowd of press and well-wishers welcoming President Theodore Roosevelt back from his most recent safari. As they made their way through the throng, the husband expressed how discouraged he was. After fifty years of service to God, after losing two children to jungle diseases, there was not a single person to welcome them home. His wife suggested that he talk to God about this during his bedtime prayers. In their cheap little hotel room, the exausted wife fell asleep almost immediately. She woke in the morning to find her husband smiling and whistling softly as he prepared for the day.
“Boy, you’ve sure lightened up!” she said. “Did you tell God about your disappointment?”
“Yes I did.” he said. “I told Him how sad and angry it made me that, after all the years of service and sacrifice we did, nobody was there to welcome us home.”
His wife asked, “Well, what did God say to you?”
With a smile, her husband answered, “God said, ‘you’re not home yet.'”

An Encounter With An Equipped Warrior
In addition to smelling the wonderful aromas of fried foods, I’ve been enjoying some conversations at the Crow Wing County Fair this week. I talked with an 85 year old guy named Bob Peterson, whose incredible trust in God’s Word was inspiring.
Please be praying that many more people would be exposed to God’s Word this week.
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” -Hebrews 4:12
Crow Wing County Fair 2010
The Pulse is at the Crow Wing County Fair in Brainerd again this year, and we’d love for you to stop by. We’re in the same spot as in the past (between the bunnies and the bathrooms, right across from the Army Hummer). Pulse Plinko has been popular again this year and gives you a chance to win CD’s, T-shirts, Higher Ground Music Festival tickets, and free jet ski rentals. We’re also giving out free samples of Walleye Dan’s new brand of coffee. We’ll be out there through Saturday night, and we’d love to hang out with you!
